Morning drop off and afternoon pickup procedures:
Students are not allowed to enter the building until 7:30 a.m. Morning drop off for ALL students will be in the elementary parking lot. Please enter the high school parking lot, make an immediate left turn onto the road that runs parallel to Hwy UU (where the old bus barn used to sit), and make a right into the elementary parking lot. This drop off procedure is for all grade levels, elementary, middle, and high school. The buses will drop off at the high school entrance giving more room for drop off on the elementary side. Students will be directed to their classrooms and cafeteria from those designated areas. Pickup after school for car riders will be in the high school parking lot (enter on the gravel road before the high school entrance) and buses will dismiss from the elementary lot. Parents need to stay in their vehicles while dropping off and picking up. Preschool and kindergarten parents are allowed to walk their children in for the first week. Thank you for your cooperation.

Middle School practices begin on Monday. The HS Office will be open today until 4:30 if students/parents need to pick up paperwork or turn in paperwork. Paperwork can also turned in on Monday at practice as the offices are closed. Practice schedules are as follows:
MS Softball (Baseball Field) 4:00-6:00
MS Cross Country (Softball Field) 3:30-4:30
Tonight is Back-to-School Night from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. Come meet your teachers and administrators, pick up your class schedules, get your locker assignments and bring your school supplies! We can't wait to see everyone! Looking forward to an awesome school year!
Fall Student-Athletes: The yellow practice form needs to be completed and submitted to Coach Francis prior to your first practice on Monday. Please drop off your form today or tomorrow at the High School Office. Please prepare accordingly for your team and don’t procrastinate! Go Owls!

There is a high school boys soccer meeting August 10th at Elsberry High School from 5-6pm for parents/students that are interested in playing. Info will be given out.
That next Monday, August 11th, from 4pm-5:30pm is when practices officially begin.
Silex Owls will honor the MSHSAA mandated Dead Period starting tomorrow, August 2 through Sunday, August 10. No contact with coaches and no use of athletic facilities as directed by MSHSAA.

August 14: Student-Athlete/Parent Meeting @ Back to School Night- 6:00pm
August 18: First JH Fall Sports Practice
Before a student can practice/participate in any MSHSAA sponsored activity, all forms including physicals, insurance, pre-participation, drug testing consent must be completed and turned into the office or Coach Francis.

The Elsberry Community Growth Association has a concert planned for this Saturday, June 14th from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Double Eagle Pavilion (402 South 4th Street). They are going to invite the Elsberry-Silex soccer team on stage around 7:30 p.m. to honor them for their State Championship season. Everyone is welcome to attend!

Reminder: Tomorrow, Thursday, May 29th is the first day of summer school! Drop off can begin at 7:45 a.m. with summer school starting at 8:00 a.m.
