Owls Care is now available in the library for any student who may need personal hygiene products. All products are free and students are welcome to take as needed. Owls Care is facilitated through the high school National Honor Society and is funded by community donations. Owls Care is now seeking donations of lip balm, tooth paste, tooth brushes, and body lotion. Products should be travel sized, please, and can be sent to the high school office any time (attn: Owls Care). For more information, please email hmiller@silex.k12.mo.us

Activities for Tuesday, August 19, 2025: First Day of School, 7:50 a.m. - 3:35 p.m.

PLTC starts tomorrow! PLTC students: the bus will leave tomorrow at 7:45 AM. Please be on time and all PLTC students need to ride the bus. Good luck this year!

Morning drop off and afternoon pickup procedures: Students are not allowed to enter the building until 7:30 a.m. Morning drop off for ALL students will be in the elementary parking lot. Please enter the high school parking lot, make an immediate left turn onto the road that runs parallel to Hwy UU (where the old bus barn used to sit), and make a right into the elementary parking lot. This drop off procedure is for all grade levels, elementary, middle, and high school. The buses will drop off at the high school entrance giving more room for drop off on the elementary side. Students will be directed to their classrooms and cafeteria from those designated areas. Pickup after school for car riders will be in the high school parking lot (enter on the gravel road before the high school entrance) and buses will dismiss from the elementary lot. Parents need to stay in their vehicles while dropping off and picking up. Preschool and kindergarten parents are allowed to walk their children in for the first week. Thank you for your cooperation.

It was so nice to see everyone on Back to School Night! Mrs. Grier will be in the office on Monday from 9:00-1:00 if any students would like to get ahead with schedule changes. Middle School practices begin on Monday. The HS Office will be open today until 4:30 if students/parents need to pick up paperwork or turn in paperwork. Paperwork can also turned in on Monday at practice as the offices are closed. Practice schedules are as follows: MS Softball (Baseball Field) 4:00-6:00 MS Cross Country (Softball Field) 3:30-4:30

Tonight is Back-to-School Night from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. Come meet your teachers and administrators, pick up your class schedules, get your locker assignments and bring your school supplies! We can't wait to see everyone! Looking forward to an awesome school year!
