The Varsity & Junior High Cross Country meet scheduled for Thursday, October 8, 2020, at Orchard Farm, has been cancelled.
National Honor Society members were working hard this morning to deliver the Owls Pals today. The Change Drive begins next week!
Starting tomorrow, Thursday, October 1, 2020, school meals (breakfast and lunch) will be available at no charge to all Silex R-I School District students under a temporary waiver from the USDA. The free meal service will continue through the end of December 2020 or until the federal funding is no longer available. All students are eligible for this program. The Silex R-I School District is committed to ensuring no child goes hungry and has sponsored free meals and Owls Pals bags throughout the pandemic, even following the closure of our school buildings in the spring. The USDA waiver provides funding to ensure nutritious meals continue to reach all children in this unprecedented time. There’s no need to apply for the benefit; all children through the age of 18 are automatically eligible for free meals.
