October Calendar

This beautiful end/coffee table will be raffled off by the Silex Music Department at the Silex Fall Festival. Chances are $10 each. It is made of 100 year old barn wood and concrete. See a Silex Band Member or Mrs. Burkemper for a chance to win!

Bulletin September 23,2016 Attention Boys interested in playing American Legion Baseball. Try-outs for next year teams will be held at the American Legion Field in Elsberry on Sunday , September 25th. The A division will work out at 3:00 pm . The AA division will work out at 5:00 pm. Seniors please see Miss Kuntz for an application for a scholarship from the Missouri Cattlemen's Foundation. You must be a member of the Junior Cattlemen's or your parents have to be a member of the Missouri Cattlemen's Association. Any Middle School student who is interested in joining SAFE can attend the membership meeting today during Advisement in the cafeteria. There will be a DARE dance tonight at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds for 5th, 6th, and 7th grade students.

Applications for summer camp counselor positions are due to Officer Binder today. St. Charles Community College is hosting a College Fair today from 6-7:30 pm. This is a great opportunity to meet and visit with representatives from several colleges as well as career and technical schools. If you have questions you can see Miss Kuntz. FBLA: All FBLA officers and members will meet in Mrs. Franz’s room before school on Friday, September 23rd at 7:15 a.m. There will be a high school SAFE meeting before school this Friday at 7:30 in the art room. Any student in grades 9-12 who's interested can stop by for more information, a registration form, and a donut! Student Council is hosting a Loose Change War between classes. Next week bring in your loose change for your class. The winning class gets a pizza party. There will be a table outside Mrs. Kerns’ room that has a bottle with your class color for you to put in your loose change.

Your child does not need to sign up in advance to eat school breakfast or lunch, but you do need to complete an application in order to qualify for free or reduced price meals. Call 573/384-5227 to receive an application or visit the district website www.silex.k12.mo.us under documents to download an application and return it to your child’s school.
