The Quiz Bowl meet scheduled for tonight has been rescheduled for next Wednesday, January 31st at 4:30 p.m. at Van-Far.
The Bowling Green Tournament games will be played this evening; the StuCo Polar Plunge shirt orders are now due tomorrow.
Due to road conditions the Silex R1 school district will be out of school on Tuesday, January 23.

Silex HS Basketball games at Louisiana tonight are rescheduled for February 14th. Silex Youth Basketball games tonight are rescheduled for this Sunday, January 21st at the same times. An updated youth schedule can be found on the Silex Facebook page and website.
Due to road conditions and blowing snow, the Silex R-1 School District will not be in session on Friday, January 19, 2024. Have a great weekend and stay safe!
Activities for Friday, January 19, 2024: School Spirit Day; Varsity girls/boys basketball at Louisiana, 5:30 p.m.
Silex Juniors who wish to take the ACT for free at Silex will need to sign up on the bulletin board outside of Mrs. Heitgerd's office by Friday, January 26th. The test date will be April 4th. Any Senior who wishes to test on April 4th at Silex can sign up, but will need to pay for the cost of the exam. Cash or check can be made out to Silex RI in the amount of $60. Payment can be given to Mrs. Trecia in the high school office.
Silex Youth Basketball games that were canceled on Friday, January 12th, will be made up on Sunday, January 28th. Times will be the same.

Silex R-1 School District will be in session tomorrow, Wednesday, January 17, 2024. We will be running our bus routes as normal as possible. There are a few spots that I will ask the bus drivers to take an alternate route. Temperatures in the morning are supposed to be very cold. Please have your students wear coats, hats, and gloves, and cover as much of their body as possible while waiting for the bus.
If you have a student driver, please have them use the utmost caution while driving. Several of our roads are snow compacted in places and for inexperienced drivers this could be hazardous. We want our students to arrive safely at school but temperatures are supposed to rise throughout the day which should improve road conditions for the return home.
