Activities for Tuesday, December 10, 2024: FFA Greenhand Week; MS girls basketball at Clopton, 5:30 p.m.; Elementary Christmas Concert for grades K-2, 6 p.m.; JV/V boys basketball at Silex vs. New Haven, 6 p.m.


Silex School will return to a normal schedule this week. PLTC students are required to attend on Monday, December 9th and all students will return to classes on Tuesday, December 10th.


Activities for Monday, December 9, 2024: No school; MS girls/boys basketball at Troy South, 5 p.m.; Varsity girls/boys basketball at Community, 6 p.m.


Activities for Saturday, December 7, 2024: Owls Pals Ham Dinner pickup, 9:30-10:30 a.m.; additional ham dinner pickup 10:30 - 11:00 a.m., while supplies last.


PLTC is optional for Silex students tomorrow. If students want to attend, they will need to find their own transportation. PLTC will resume as normal on Monday, December 9th and transportation will be provided.


The Silex JV/Varsity girls basketball game will now be played at North Callaway tonight starting at 6 p.m. Bus will leave at 3:45 p.m. The boys JV/V basketball game scheduled for Friday, December 6th will now be played at Fulton High School at 6 p.m.


Due to the water issues in the City of Silex, school will be dismissed at 1:30 p.m. today, December 5th, and will not be in session tomorrow, Friday, December 6, 2024. All practices and after school activities are cancelled for today. We will be sending out information soon regarding the JV/V girls basketball game tonight. The MS basketball games at Mark Twain will go on as scheduled.


Activities for Friday, December 6, 2024: No school due to water issues in the City of Silex; JV/V boys basketball at Fulton High School vs. North Callaway, 6 p.m.


Travelin Tom's Coffee Truck is coming on Thursday, December 12th! Pre orders need to be completed by December 10th. Teachers, staff and students (grades 9-12 only) will pay for their drinks. City has asked all of downtown Silex to conserve water tomorrow during the day due to the tower being nearly emptied today from the pump issues that occurred over the weekend.
Please send your student with a water bottle from home if possible for the remainder of the week. The district will have some water available in the cafeteria to fill up bottles if needed.
